About Us
A North Alabama paving company you can actually call back.
Rocket City Asphalt was founded in 2003 by a Huntsville-born paving foreman who got tired of watching out-of-state crews leave town with the check before the asphalt cooled.
Built in the Tennessee Valley. Built for the Tennessee Valley.
Anyone can run a paver. What makes asphalt last in Huntsville is understanding the ground it sits on — and the weather it has to fight. North Alabama gives us a tough combination: red clay subgrades that swell when it rains and shrink when it doesn't, 40+ freeze-thaw cycles between November and March, and summer surface temperatures that routinely hit 140°F on a black driveway.
We've been engineering around that combination for two decades. Every Rocket City Asphalt job starts with the part you'll never see: deep base prep, geotextile fabric over expansive clay, and aggregate compacted in lifts. By the time we lay the surface course, the easy part is over.
Locally owned, locally accountable
We're not a franchise, we're not a storm-chaser, and we don't subcontract your job to the lowest bidder. Our crews are W-2 employees who live within 30 miles of the office. When you need warranty work three years from now, we're still answering the same phone number — and we still know your driveway by name.
